2008 Tournament Directors

This page contains information needed by all Tournament Directors. The reports below will help your registration process, or can be displayed throughout the day for player reference.
Thank you for your help in being organized, we hope your tournament will run smoothly as a result! Please ask the UOVA Rep at your tournament if you have any questions or if we can do anything to help. Good luck in running a successful tournament!

All tournament directors should have a hard copy of this handbook which was given to you at the February 2008 Tournament Directors Meeting.

Tournament Request Form
For requesting a tournament and knowing what is required of you please get this form. This is to be turned in to UOVA no later than December2, 2007.

Mailer Fee
If you need to pay your mailer fee online or with a credit card we can do that. Just contact Traci and we can make a link available for you to pay $85 with a $5 convieniece fee for paying online

Tournament Sanction Fee
Your can pay your Sanction fee of $100.00 with a $5 convieniece fee for paying online. Please call Traci and let her know you need to do this and we can make a link available for you to do this

NCAA Waiver form
If you have a player who is needing to keep their status as a non professional athlete. WAVER FORM

Tournament Evaluation Form
Tournament Directors, this isn't for you, but for your UOVA rep. At the end of each tournament, your UOVA rep will go over this form and fill it out. It then gets submitted back to UOVA and you will receive a copy. We wanted you to be able to see the areas of your tournament that will be evaluated, so there wont be any surprises. Good Luck!

Current Rankings
This report is in Alpha order by each division, to help you quickly seed your teams at registration into separate pools. Print and bring this report to each tournament. Check that players are not registering for a division lower than one for which they have earned points. For example, if a player has earned ANY points in "A" Division, that player may not register for your "B" Division.
Write the number of points each player has earned next to their name on your team log sheets. The teams in each division with the top number of total points per team should be placed in different pools. Please ask the UOVA rep at your tournament if you have any questions about how to properly assign teams to pools.

This is a list of current year UOVA members. Please print and bring to your tournament so players can look up their UOVA member number while registering.

This is to aide in the attempt to avoid any sandbagging whether intentional or unintentional.

Current Year Results
Use this report as a reference to see which players placed in each tournament this year. Please display this report after registration for all players to see throughout the day.

Report Your Results
We need to know the number of teams that played in each division. Please check spelling of players. Please email the tournament results no later than 48 hours after your event to Stacy Nisogi at stacynisogy@gmail.com. Remember, Men's Open division results must include BOTH 5th place teams if you have more than 4 Open teams.

Free Advertising
is available in the Recreation Roundup section of the Salt Lake Tribune. mail your information to the Salt Lake Tribune, Recreation Roundup, PO Box 867, Salt Lake City, UT 84110, or email your tournament info to outdoors@sltrib.com. The deadline is Monday noon prior to your event. You must include a contact name and telephone number.
For radio promotion you can go to www.KUER.org or www.KCPW.org Then go to the community calendar then go to submit and new event and follow their instructions.

Nets
To arrange for the use of the UOVA nets for your tournament, call Darian Abegglen at 801-270-7260. Please be sure to report any missing net parts to Darian so we can get replacement parts ordered.

Logos
Please make sure the UOVA logo is on your tournament flyer and any promotional materials you use for your tournament. Right click on the logo and save as. UOVA logo We will not put any flyer on the web site unless it has this logo.

Net Set Up People
You can let players set up nets at your tournaments in exchange for comping their entry fee for the day. We recommend that you allow two or three teams to do this, with each team being responsible to set up 6-8 nets. Please only use people who are on the approved UOVA net set up list. They have attended a training clinic on the proper way to set up the nets. Your net set up people should arrive around 7:00 a.m. to begin setting up nets.
